30 Days to Understanding the Bible – The Church

The Church – 30 Days to Understanding the Bible

In today’s video lesson, we look at the church. We’re getting closer to the end of our study from 30 Days to Understanding the Bible. I appreciate you hanging in there with me. We’re almost there.

The four major subdivisions for our study today are as follows:

  1. Universal church
  2. Local church
  3. Leadership
  4. Membership

We will look at the definitions and insights of each of our subdivision topics.

The first church recorded in Scripture is in the book of Acts; located in Antioch. Acts 2: 42-47 records the fellowship of believers.

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47

As you look around today, do you see anything similar? Do you belong to a group of people who reassemble the gatherings described for us in the book of Acts?

Let’s check this video session together. I pray this video message answers questions for you about the local church.

Blessings to you.
