Current Activities Of The Enemy- Part 5

We have been looking at hell. Hell is a real place, and I think we must understand the various components of hell. Why? It’s simple – Everything in us should want to stay out of hell for all eternity after we breathe our last breath.

It might come as a surprise to you, but many folks don’t believe hell exists.

I believe it does, and what if what I am telling you is true? Will you have looked back on this day with regret because you dismissed what I was trying to say to you?

There’s a song by Casting Crowns titled, “Nobody.”

One of the lines goes like this, “I’m just a nobody trying to tell everybody all about somebody who saved my soul.” That nobody today, right here, right now, is me – Jesus Christ saved my soul.

Today, let’s take a look at the present activities of Satan. Perhaps you will recognize some of these activities in your life or in the lives of people you know.

Satan is very busy

My Bible has so many scriptures about the current activities of Satan, it is a challenge to explain each and everyone here, so I will list several scripture passages for you as a reference. Please look them up and read them for yourself.

  • Matthew 12:25-26
  • Matthew 25:41

  • 1 John 5:19
  • Revelation 12:9

  • 2 Corinthians 12:7

  • 1 Chronicles 21:1
  • Matthew 16:21
  • Acts 5:3
  • 1 Thessalonians 3:5

  • Matthew 13:19
  • 1 Peter 5:8-9

  • Ephesians 6:11

Persecutes the church

  • Revelation 2:10
  • Revelation 12:13-17

Holds the power of death

  • Hebrews 2:14-15

If I was to pick one word from each of the descriptions above to summarize the activities of our enemy, the devil or as some call him Satan, here’s what I would say:

  • Rules
  • Controls
  • Afflicts
  • Tempts
  • Disrupts
  • Thwarts
  • Narcissistic
  • Deceiver
  • Schemer
  • Persecutor
  • Death

Can I ask you a question? What do you see when you review the list?

I will tell you what I don’t see – love. Love for you, love for me, love for humanity.

I do not see someone who loves me or has my best interest at heart. I see the opposite – Satan wants to destroy my heart and soul. He wants me to reside in hell with him forever. He wants that for you as well. Hell is not a loving and glorious place.

I don’t know about you, but I do not want to go to hell or be associated with someone who has made it his aim to destroy me, deceive me, distract me, injure me, etc., etc. I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart, and my goal is to actively participate in a loving relationship with Jesus Christ every day.

Can I tell you what I appreciate about the Bible? The Bible warns me of the enemy, so I can stand my ground and not fall for the enemy’s schemes, and that my friends is love.

Many people want to dismiss the seriousness of the enemy. But if you read all the scriptures I list above, and you should, you will see that the enemy takes his job very seriously.

Question to ponder

Why don’t people take the devil seriously?

The answer, I believe – They don’t take Jesus Christ seriously either.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please do so today before it’s too late. Find a Bible-believing church. Find some friends who are believers. Check out the rest of this website by clicking on the tabs above. You can know Jesus today. Don’t delay any longer.

For those who wandered away from the faith, please come back. For those who think you’ve gone too far, please seek the Lord while he may be found and reconcile. Do it today – don’t delay.
