It’s easy to get caught up in worshipping idols. Idols come in all shapes and sizes. They can be cast from metal, silver, gold, and wood. We can also make people and money idols in our lives. We see this happen all the time with celebrities, sports greats, social media platforms, and, yes, dare I say, even political figures.
As we navigate through 2021, we must be careful that we don’t make people or things idols in our lives because we believe they alone have all the answers or are our only hope.
The Lord gives us several warnings in the Bible. Let’s look at one of those today.
Leviticus 19:4, “Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the Lord your God.”
He is the Lord our God, and we are to have no others before Him. In 2021, it is tempting to seek other alternatives when we feel God is far from us or doesn’t understand. Believe me, the Lord sees everything and knows exactly what is happening here and around the world. As Christians, we need to seek Him daily with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. He is our only hope!
Seek the Lord while He may be found.
Blessings!
