Most mornings, I look out my bedroom window and watch as birds, squirrels, and occasionally a wild rabbit eat birdseed together. They all eat in the same grassy area and from the same feeders. There’s a mutual understanding among them, a peace among them. No one fights over the food, and they look like they enjoy it – until my dog goes outside for her morning duty. They all flee until she goes back inside.
Our verse of the day comes from John 14:27.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
Jesus says he gives us his peace, but it is not as the world gives. What Jesus gives us is far more superior and sufficient than the world gives.
Do you know this true peace that Jesus Christ gives?
Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? I sure hope so
Let’s pray.
Father, thank you for loving us despite our tendencies to mess things up. Lord, I thank you for the gift of your son, Jesus Christ. Without him, my life would be a train wreck. Lord, you are so faithful, and I thank you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
Blessings!
