Good morning sweet things! It’s Friday and all is well if you are awake and reading this email. Rejoice! You are alive today!
Yesterday I asked you several questions. Do you remember what they were? Here’s a little reminder in case you forgot.
Have you opened that door in your own life? Have you or are you regarding the things of this world more holy than God himself? Are you lowering your standard to meet the world definition of living?
Let’s look at some possible responses to those questions. How we respond to our own awareness of having treated holy things as unholy is very important.
Allow me to share the information from Beth Moore’s study of Daniel on this topic. It is quite intriguing.
“The first inappropriate response to the awareness that we’ve treated holy things as unholy is a lack of repentance. The other extreme is debilitating guilt and an unwillingness to let go of past failure long after repentance. God is looking for the healthy response of godly sorrow that brings repentance, not emotional self-mutilation.”
“I couldn’t understand what 2 Corinthians 7:10 meant by “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret.”…Allow me to share what I realized based on the Amplified Bible.”
“For godly grief and the pain God is permitted to direct, produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil, and it never brings regret; but worldly grief (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world) is deadly ( breeding and ending in death)” (2 Cor 7:10).”
I’ll break it down some more tomorrow because it’s a good one!
In the meantime have a wonderful day. Take note of the beautiful flowers outside who have greeted a chilly day and thank God for his majestic beauty through unhindered prayer.
In His Service
Jeanette
