30 Days to Understanding the Bible – The Gospel Era
The Gospel Era is our focus for today. 30 Days to Understanding the Bible will take you on an educational journey that will help make the Bible come alive.
Did you know that B.C. stood for “before Christ” and A.D. stands for everything after, or “anno Domini, in the year of our Lord.”
Jesus’ story is predicted throughout the Old Testament and told in the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The gospel is good news to those who are perishing!
When we have good news, we love to share it with others. In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus instructs the 11 disciples to go and share the good news – make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them everything they had been taught.
What does that say to me? Go and tell others the good news you have received. Share the good news of the gospel with others. Do not keep it to yourself. Why? Jesus instructed us to go into all the world – be mission-minded.
If someone had not taken the time and interest in me, I wouldn’t be here sharing this news with you. Mission-minded people are concerned for the spiritual well-being of others. Mission-minded does not mean I have to travel around the world to a remote location deep in the woods of the Amazon to share the gospel.
We are all living in the gospel era where we need to be mission-minded and concerned for others’ spiritual well-being so they too can share the good news of the gospel – that Jesus Christ was crucified, buried, and rose on the third day for the forgiveness of our sins.
Jesus Christ took on the wrath of God meant for you and me and paid the price for our sin, a debt we could not pay.
Let’s dive deeper into the Gospel Era and see what we can mine from this glorious chapter.
