30 Days to Understanding the Bible -The Epistles

The Epistles also known as letters. The Apostle Paul wrote 13 letters, nine to churches, and four to individuals. They are fascinating, realistic, and heartfelt letters from a guy who used to persecute Christians.

That’s right. Our busy journalist used to persecute Christians. His name was Saul. He was Jewish, and devout keeper of the law. The book of Acts records his activities.

Check this out. Acts 8:3, “But Saul began to destroy the church, going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.”

Wow! Our Epistle writer was a persecutor.

What happened to Saul?

Jesus, that’s what happened. If you skip over to Chapter nine, you will read all about Saul’s conversion story and how Jesus met him on the Damascus Road. What a life-changing event.

From that day on, Saul would be known as Paul and his life would be changed forever. Paul, one of the most zealous for Christ ever recorded in history, would travel around sharing the gospel for I believe more than 25 years. I like Paul; because he wasn’t perfect and I’m far from perfect as well. Check it out!
