The Narrow and Wide Gates
Are you choosing the narrow gate? Check out the newest Bible Study Short about Jesus’ teaching on choosing the narrow gate. Our passage comes from Matthew 7:13-14. The video is less than 2 minutes.
Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
The above is the first of four warnings given by Jesus as a caution to the lost about where they are headed. Take heed.
The difference between narrow and wide? Let’s take a look.
Narrow
- hard to find
- small
- narrow
- The narrow way that leads to life is found only by faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Wide
- easy to find
- wider
- leads to destruction which means “a loss that produces utter ruin, perishing,”
- In our example above, it refers to the loss of eternal life.
I am reminded of the old saying that goes something like this: “Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do.”
Are you looking for the narrow gate that leads to eternal life?
