God, what more can I bring you?
What more can I do?
The only thing the Father requires of me is to love Him with all my heart, soul and strength. Then I am to love my neighbor as myself.
With all my heart, soul and strength? Sounds easy at first glance, on the surface, yet something that in my reality is actually quite difficult.
For me, the world is at odds with my future attempts to love Him. For me, the world begs me to love it with those attributes.
Why?
One reason is that the enemy longs to be above God, to be better than God. It wants my heart, my mind, my soul and my strength. The enemy wants what God wants, but more. That has been his plan from the beginning. That’s why he has fallen. That’s why the world is fallen.
The world can’t offer me eternal life. Nowhere do I read of anyone else offering me eternal life.
No, the world’s only promise to me, to us is instant gratification and dead ends. There’s no hope, no refuge, no future, no love. Only emptiness and disappointment disguised as gleeful, fulfilling packages.
Why is it that more people won’t make the choice to follow a Savior who offers those things? There is a myriad of reasons, but they all come down to one – choice.
In a world full of choices, the choice to follow God or the enemy goes much deeper than where we’ll eat lunch or what shoes we’ll wear. It’s the difference between living and dying.
It’s an eternal choice.
You see, the great thing about God is He gave you and I free will to do what we want, to freely choose Him. He didn’t make robots and make all of us the same so that no one would step out of line. he didn’t make all of us the same so that our worship would be boring and mundane.
No, instead He gave us free will. With that free will, we make choices. His desire for you is that you would choose Him.
What have you decided? The Lord or the enemy? Heaven or hell?
Something to think about,
