I Remember That I Have Hope

In a world falling apart each day, I remember that I have hope. There is one I cling to daily for the hope of a better life where there’s no more tears, no more pain, no more anger, regret, deception, terror, or evil. The one who promised is faithful, and honestly, based on what he did for me, why would I not believe he can handle this also.

Twenty-five years ago, I couldn’t say that. I was placing my hope in myself and others. Now, I place my hope in Jesus Christ because he gave his life for me.

God is well aware of everything. Nothing happening today, no matter how deeply deceptive, is hidden from God.

While evil rages on daily, keep looking up for the one who is our blessed hope. I believe his return is very near.

We have been spending a lot of time looking at Bible prophecy and end times events. Today, I felt the urge to share another truth – the reason I have hope.

The Apostle Paul thought it was important to remind the Corinthians again of the hope they have.

1 Corinthians 15:1-7

15 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.”

Let’s look at the ABCs of salvation. This is a child-like representation of the gospel.

A – Admit

Admit what you have done wrong and ask forgiveness.

Romans 3:23 All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death.
I John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

B – Believe

Believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again as payment for your sins.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4  Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
Romans 5:8  But God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

C – Confess and Choose

Confess and choose to allow God to be in charge of your life

Matthew 16:24  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Romans 10:9  If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:13  Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

I was one way; now I’m another.

I don’t know if you are a fan of the hit series, The Chosen, but I think it is the best retelling of Jesus’ life on television by far. If you have not seen it yet, you need to check it out. They are currently in season 2. Episode 7 comes out later this week. It’s fantastic and completely free. I cried almost every episode of season 1. In season 2, I decided to purchase a few things, and my favorite so far is their t-shirt, “I was one way.”

The bottom line? The show is well done.

Folks, if you do not know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, today is the day of salvation. This world is passing away. There’s no more time to waste. Choose Jesus Christ. He is our only hope.

Blessings!
