“Are you ready yet? Hey, we’re waiting on you.” Do you remember when you were a kid, hearing your parents yell down the hall, “Hey, we’re leaving now!”
“One minute! I’m coming!” as you scurried to put your shoes on. Those were the days. Life was much simpler then.
The question remains – are you ready to go?
Our verse of the day is from Matthew 24:42-44.
“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day the Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Constant vigilance is required. As is in the parable above, one does not know when the thief will come, so the owner of the house must always be watching.
We must always be watching and ready to go because we do not know what day the Lord is coming. When the Lord returns, we will not have a chance to yell out, “Hey, wait for me, I’m almost ready!”
Blessings!
