Do not be anxious. Pray about everything instead of worrying. I know that sounds easier said than done. However, Scripture tells us that is exactly what we are to do especially when we find ourselves in difficult circumstances.
Our Scripture for today comes from Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
“6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Present your requests to the Lord. Did you notice the Apostle Paul said, “every situation?” That means there is nothing too big or too small the Lord cannot handle. There isn’t anything the Lord hasn’t seen. Nothing comes as a surprise to Him.
Do not be anxious. Allow His peace to blanket you today. Yes, you may have to be purposeful to receive it. You may have to make an effort, but trust me when I say it is definitely worth it.
What is the alternative? Worry. Stress. Fear. Anxiety.
Given the year we just had, I can understand why many people would fall into one of those categories and why telling someone not to be anxious sounds crazy. But remember, nothing that has happened has escaped the Lord’s sight. You have not escaped the Lord’s sight.
Remember that the God of the universe, the maker of heaven and earth, knows everything that is happening. Nothing is getting by him. Not now and not ever. Rest in the shelter of the Almighty, and do not be anxious.
Blessings!
