Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 34:15-18.
“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to blot out their name from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
We may not have all our prayers answered the way we like, but God hears our prayers and answers them according to His will. It may feel like an eternity before you see your prayer answered, but I believe he answers them.
I remember telling a friend of mine that God answers them one of three ways – Yes, no, maybe. I am probably simplifying that, but that’s what it seems to me. The only other way is not at all, but I don’t think God would totally ignore our prayer.
Let’s pray.
Lord, I believe you hear our prayers, and you answer them. Your answers may not be what we would prefer, but you hear and answer accordingly. Help us remain faithful while we wait for your answers. Lord, help us not run ahead of you because of our impatience and desire to want what we think is best. Father, prevent us from getting the wrong t things we wish for. Sometimes Lord, unanswered prayers and the word no are best for us. Please help us to accept those answers as part of your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
The Lord is near. Lean into Him today.
