As I sat there reading my Bible, I felt led to pray for my online community. You might stop by here on occasion or maybe every day. Regardless, everyone needs prayer. So, I thought today would be a good day to stop and pray for you. I don’t know your background or current situation, struggle, or victory, but the Lord knows.
Will you join me now?
Dear Lord, I thank you for who you are. You are mighty, powerful, merciful, graceful, and forgiving. Lord, there is no one like you in all the earth. Father, your plans are bigger and greater than anything our wee little brains can imagine. I thank you, Lord, for water, air, food to eat, and the ability to create, write, play, and build.
Father, I thank you for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sin so all who believe can have eternal life. Lord, I thank you for the Holy Spirit who lives in believers. Father, you are a good good Father. I praise you for answered prayers. I know you are a God of miracles. I have seen them in my own life over the years, things I will never forget.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for the person reading this. I know Lord, they have a 1000 other blogs they can read, but they chose this one today. Lord, I thank you for the ability to write and pray on their behalf.
Lord, my prayer today for the person reading this is that whatever comes their way, they will stand tall in the Lord. I pray they will draw from your strength Father, not their own. Father, help them to keep focused on you and their desires for you. Would you please not let them succumb to what the enemy has in store for them?
If there is a sickness in their home, I pray for their healing. Should they be struggling mentally and emotionally, I pray Lord for clarity and peace. Lord, if it is financial, I pray you show them how to go and what to do. Father, if it’s marital issues, Lord, that you would speak to each spouse’s heart and remind them of what it was, they fell in love with originally. Lord, if children are struggling, teenagers rebelling, or whatever it may be, Father, I know that you are capable of all things and can handle whatever they ask of you.
Heavenly Father, I also pray that in those moments when we want to throw in the towel over what has happened, gone wrong, deadlines, pressures, viruses, social distancing, job loss or whatever else it may be, I pray God we remember you are a Holy God, present and all-knowing, and you are there to help us. We need to ask.
Lastly, Lord, I pray for this country, its leadership from the top down. Father, our country is so divided, and I believe the best thing we can do is turn back to you, each person, choosing to love and follow you with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Lord, strengthen your children for what lies ahead. Your word says in the last days, it will get worse. Father, strengthen your children and give us eyes to see, minds to understand, and hearts to love our fellow man. Help us to stay diligent and stand firm in our faith no matter what happens.
Oh Lord, to you be the glory forever and ever! Father, I pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
“6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 (NIV)
“17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
My friend, the Lord is near and cares for you!
I pray that you have a good day.
