Verse Of The Day: Stand Firm

I was sitting here thinking about how I could encourage my brothers and sisters today. The words, “stand firm,” came to mind. I plugged those words into my Bible app, and several passages came back with those words. Reading all those passages was encouraging to me.

Our verse of the day comes from Phillippians 1:27.

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the gospel.”

No matters what happens in the world we live in, remember this is our temporary home. We are to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. That’s a pretty big deal. Some days will be easier than others, but we must try.

Remember to keep the mission of the Lord Jesus in view – to share the gospel message with others as Jesus instructed in Matthew 28. The gospel is good news!

Let’s pray.

Father, I am thankful for the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am also thankful the disciples’ thousands of years ago were obedient to Jesus’ instructions to go into all the world and share the good news of the gospel. They stood firm on their faith and faced persecution and death to get the truth out. Thank you, Lord, for equipping and guiding them in the truth. My life is forever changed because of their faithfulness. To you be the glory Lord. I pray all this in Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings!
