Verse Of The Day – Get Rid Of All Bitterness

For our verse of the day, we are looking at bitterness. Our passage comes from the book of Ephesians 4:31-32.

Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Bitterness reminds me of roots on trees. The deeper the root system, the stronger the tree. When it comes to bitterness, the deeper the resentment, the more powerful the stronghold.

The stronghold of bitterness is a game-changer in our life and it doesn’t have to be that way.

The apostle Paul instructs us to get rid of ALL bitterness, anger, brawling, slander, and every form of malice. Why? It destroys us and others. It starts out small, but if not dealt with quickly, it can grow much bigger and become a stronghold in our life that chokes the joy out of us.

We are living in a time like no other that I can personally remember. It’s easy to fall into the trap of bitterness and revenge. Let go, and let God handle everything. Give your pain over to the Lord. He can handle it.

Blessings!
