Are You Looking For Peace And Rest?

Many years ago, I struggled pretty often to find peace and rest. I was not getting any rest, and I certainly wasn’t experiencing any peace. I lived for myself and believed my ways and thoughts were better. However, some time had passed before I realized my ways and thoughts were the root causes of my problems.

Life was quite chaotic, and I could never get settled.

In August of 1999, I accepted an invitation to go to church. I was new to the area, and the only person I knew invited me to her church. Begrudging, I chose to go, and it ended up being the best decision I ever made. My life changed forever.

I found the peace and rest I had always dreamed of. My outlook changed, and the things and people I thought I had to have slowly faded away.

Jesus Christ offered me peace and rest, and I took Him up on His offer. It was the best decision I ever made. I had accepted Jesus into my heart when I was a child, but I never lived for Him. Moreover, I never pursued Him. When I started seeking a relationship with Jesus, my life turned around. I am not that broken woman I was twenty-two years ago.

Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Jesus Christ offers us peace and rest and so much more when we follow Him with our whole heart! His yoke is indeed easy.

Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior? If not, you can know Him today.

In a world that seems to be changing daily and growing more intense, time is of the essence. Do not delay deciding to make Jesus your Lord and Savior. No president, military, world leader, family, or friend can give you the peace and rest Jesus Christ offers.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
