Be Last – God’s Word – Part 2

I want to continue sharing from the Student Life conference. Its great stuff and I thought maybe you would enjoy it as much as I have. So, lets pick up where we left off yesterday.

“Paul urges us to live a life worthy of the calling we have received (Ephesians 4″1-6).

In what ways does God’s Word help us see that the calling we have on our lives goes far beyond just being a good person?

We read the Bible to know God and to know who we are in relationship to Him, but we also read it to frame our world with a Christ-centered perspective. Reading the Bible helps us to see the world through God’s eyes. Imagine a day in which you wake up, wash yourself, clothe yourself, fix your appearance, feed yourself, get yourself to work or school, and spend the rest of the day taking care of your needs. Before long, these actions naturally lead you to a self-centered lifestyle in which taking care of yourself is your first priority , when the Scriptures clearly call you to “Be Last” (Mark 9:35). It is vital to make reading the Bible part of your daily routine so that you can begin framing your world in light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

What will you do to allow the Word of God to speak truth into your life? Why is it important to read your Bible?

Please give this some thought today. Seek God in prayer and ask him to show you.

In His Service
