Green Pool

I remember when I bought this house. It needed work and that included the swimming pool. Although smaller than most pools, the color wasn’t very attractive. It might have been great and appealing for small, webbed footed creatures, but for me and my family, a slimy, lime green pool was not very attractive.

I made a few phone calls and within a week my pool was a sparkling and inviting blue. My friend installed new equipment, gave me instructions on how to operate everything and added chemicals to the pool. Wow, what a difference a few changes can make.

When I think about this, it reminds me of what Jesus has done for me. With a few changes in my life, some new equipment, instructions and new insight, I’m no longer a form of lime green sludge floating adrift, but I’m being transformed into a beautiful new creation with Jesus as the light that is shining through. I’m feeling more like a crystal blue swimming pool. I know it sounds corny but that’s ok with me.

Why am I sharing this with you?

I have been given a mission to tell everyone what Jesus Christ has and is doing for me.

Some of you can relate to what I’m telling you while others will think I’ve fallen off my rocker. Let me assure you I have not. The Bible says we are to share the good news! I have good news to share and I want to share it with you and everyone else.

The apostle Paul wrote in Romans 1:16-17, “I am not shamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, first for the Jew and then the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.”

So here’s the question – Are you like a slimy, green pool or are you being transformed into beautiful, crystal clear water? Do you have good news to share?

Father thank you for your presence in my life. I wont apologize for telling everyone about it. On those days when I mess up, Lord, please lift me up and stand me on solid ground again. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

In His Service
