Don’t Open The Door To The Enemy!!

Allow me a few minutes today to make another point about opening the door. If you recall, yesterday I shared the shoulder in the door jamb story. I had leaned up against the door jamb and the screaming girls slammed the door on my shoulder and were using all their strength to try and shut the door. Of course they didn’t know my shoulder was in it.

I want to make a very important point. yesterday I shared with you revelation 3:20 and lets take the time to review that passage again. “”Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

Let me clarify something – Do not open the door to the enemy! Make no mistake, the enemy will bang on your door day and night until you open it and let him in. Just to be clear here in case there is any doubt – Jesus in NOT the enemy!

Satan makes every attempt to get into our daily lives and mess it up. He makes every attempt to throw you off track. He goes out of his way to detour you from going to church, from reading your Bible, from praying, from listening to God, the Father. Satan doesn’t want you to get closer to Jesus because he knows exactly what that means.

A lot of people think Satan isn’t very smart, when in fact he knows how the whole thing ends already, so the more people he can get on his side the better. the more people he can convince not to follow Jesus, the better. Its all he has. He knows he will be nothing when the lord comes back. He knows he has lost the war, but he continues to fight the battles until then, bringing people down along the way. Sadly not everyone recognizes the enemy in their own household.

A friend of mine once said, “We spend all our efforts keeping our families safe inside our homes. But we don’t do anything to keep them safe from the stuff they watch on television and the internet. We don’t do anything about the video games or the IPODS or what they hear inside our homes. We lock our doors and windows at night to keep the robbers out, but we do nothing to protect them when it comes in via the electronic medium. Half the time we don’t even know what they are watching on those little screens. Most of us cant even see what’s on those little screens.”

Point well said.

So as we listen for the door, as we look for opportunities, please be sure you are answering to the right call. Please be sure you are opening the door to the right person, Jesus Christ, not the enemy.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”

Have a blessed day my friend and may God continue to shine his light and love into your life.

In His Service
Jeanette
