Propel Lead: Connect With Your Heart
Propel is a beautiful blessing. I had the incredible privilege of attending a women’s leadership conference called “Propel Lead.” It was a conference designed for female leaders from all walks of life.
The day was filled with fantastic, grace-filled speakers – men and women who brought messages of hope, influence, and encouragement.
But my favorite speaker of the day was John Maxwell. He taught two sessions.
John Maxwell, for those of you who haven’t heard of him before, is a New York Times best-selling author who has written numerous books. Google him.
He talked about what he calls the “Rule of 5.”
Propel notes
I’d like to share some of what I learned. Due to the number of notes I took, I am going to break these down for you one at a time over the next few weeks.
Let’s look at #1 in the Rule of 5.
- Learn every day – Be Intentional, Be Teachable, Be Expandable
a. Intentional – Select what you read because there’s so much out there.
b. Teachable – Want to learn – Always ask questions, listen more, talk less.
c. Expandable – Equip people to be on your team. Be relational. Learn how to lead. Learn in areas of your giftedness, continuously study.
Growth is not automatic. Be on purpose; have a plan.
With practice, each day will get easier.
Next time, we’ll look at #2 – Reflect.
“Our potential is his gift to us, and what we do with it is our gift back to Him.”
