The Serpent Started At The Beginning

One day I was listening to a sermon on the radio, and something the pastor said struck me and got me thinking. I had never connected the dots. He said, and I’m probably paraphrasing but here goes:

“The serpent, satan, started at the beginning.”

The pastor explained that satan didn’t waste any time trying to trick, degrade, fool, lie and attempt to bring down humankind. The serpent, satan, immediately went after Adam and Eve in the garden.

We are introduced to satan in Genesis Chapter 3. We get three chapters into the Bible, and we meet the serpent. We are introduced to his cunning and deceitful ways right away.

Grab your Bible and read the account for yourself. Notice how he twists the truth of God’s word.

Can you imagine the little victory dance the enemy took when God banned Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden for listening to the serpent?

Knowing this information, it should not surprise us to know that satan is still trying to deceive all humanity with his cunning ways, deceit, and lies.

Do not be fooled. Satan didn’t stop in the garden.

Satan is trying his best to get as many people as possible to turn away from God. Sadly, many people have fallen away, and we must pray for them to see the light, and return to the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the light of the world, and we’re living in a dark world, a world growing darker by the day.

Ephesians 6 tells us to put on the whole armor of God because the enemy is real.

The Bible also tells us to be careful and be sure we stay close to the Lord.

1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

Don’t allow the enemy to get a foothold in your life. Stay alert, remain sober and vigilant in prayer, and read your Bible. Keep your armor on at all times to ward off the threats from the enemy. You are a prime target if you are trying to go through this life alone without daily meeting with the Lord.

Final thoughts

Be thankful we have God’s word that tells us what to do to guard our heart and mind. The Bible gives us intel on how to handle the enemy, and we are told what’s going to happen to satan in the end. We are not uninformed unless of course, we haven’t read the Bible.

Let’s pray.

Father, I pray for each person here. Lord, if they are starting down a slippery slope, I pray they turn to you now before it’s too late. Help them, Lord, see that you love them and want what is best for them. If they are feeling like the enemy is coming after them, Lord, I ask for your outpouring of protection and wisdom in their life. Father, I thank you in advance for what you will do and praise you, Lord, for all you have already done. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
