Our kids are famous for saying, “I didn’t know,” even though we have told them a thousand times. Adults are guilty of saying the same thing when caught doing something they know is wrong. “I didn’t know.” There comes a time when you can no longer plead ignorance.
Our verse of the day comes from Acts 17:29-31.
“Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”
Throughout the years, humanity has crafted for itself idols made of gold, silver, and stone, and that practice continues today. But there is only one God, maker of heaven and earth, who sent his one and only Son Jesus Christ to earth as payment for our sins.
The truth has been made known now, and people cannot plead ignorance. Now more than ever before, with the help of technology, people can read the Bible and hear the Bible. We can take Bible studies, read books on the Bible, go to church, watch online sermons, and study all kinds of valuable resources on God and his redemptive plan for humanity.
A day is coming sooner than we think when God will judge the world. You and I live in this world. Get to know the Lord intimately before that day comes. You’ll be glad you did.
Blessings!
