Verse Of The Day – No One Can Hide

When I was a kid, we played block tag till 9 pm most nights. It was nothing for us to be outside after dark without friends. Block tag is another name for hide-n-seek. We used the whole block for hiding. Those hiding were ultimately found – whether it be up in trees, behind someone’s shed, or laying on the ground., No one could hide for long – eventually, someone would find you if you were unsuccessful in making it back to base.

Our verse of the day comes from Hebrews 4:12-13.

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”

The “word of God” can be two things. It can refer to Scripture, or it can refer to Jesus Christ himself.

We cannot hide from Jesus’ sight. We all stand open and transparent to His eyes. Professing believers may be able to deceive others and pretend they are walking sincerely with the Lord, but they cannot deceive the Lord.

Do you walk the walk or just talk the talk? When others look at you, do they see a sincere and genuine follower of Jesus Christ, or are you hiding behind a facade?

A dear friend of mine gave me a t-shirt that says, “I want to be so full of Christ that if a mosquito bites me, it flies away singing, “There is power in the blood!”

Let’s strive each day to draw closer to Jesus Christ. Don’t play games with the Lord. He can see you no matter where you hide.

Blessings!

The Gospel:

1 Corinthians 15:3-4, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received; that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,”
