Happy Saturday! I hope you are doing well. Can you believe we are starting May already? Five months into 2021, already. I wonder what awaits us. We can’t see what lies ahead, but something great awaits those who believe.
Our verse of the day comes from 1 Peter 1:8-9.
“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
I happen to love this Scripture because it describes others in the Apostle Peter’s day who believed in Jesus even though they hadn’t seen him. These believers may have lived in another region, or they were second-generation believers.
Peter had a front-row seat in the days Jesus walked the earth, died on the cross, and rose again. Peter saw the empty tomb, and he saw Jesus before he ascended into heaven.
Peter spread the good news, and I am so glad he did. I, too, believe in Jesus even though I haven’t seen him. I rejoice because of the glorious expectation of his return. Every day that goes by is another day closer to seeing him face to face.
2020 was quite the year. The virus came and changed life as we know it not only here but around the world. However, 2021 already has its challenges.
As we wait, we should be joyful because we have this hope – a hope in one we have never seen. Exciting stuff!
Blessings!
