If there is anything I have learned over the last several months, false prophets are everywhere and are very active. The current political climate in America and COVID-19 has been ripe with false prophecies.
One thing I noticed about some of these false prophets is that after their prophetic predictions came and went with no confirmation, they disappeared. Some are still active, and you need to stay alert and be aware.
Our verse of the day comes from Matthew 7:15-16.
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. By their fruit, you will recognize them.”
Jesus gives us a serious warning here and we need to be on the lookout.
False prophets are ravenous wolves who look like sheep; in other words, they look like us, but they will devour God’s people for their deceptive and devious ends.
Folks, it’s important to know that not everyone who claims to be a part of God’s covenant community is. They may look similar, but they have different foundations.
Jesus tells us to look at their fruit. By their fruit, we will recognize them. We may not see it at first, but eventually, their true colors show.
In a day of false prophets, make sure you are in the Word of God, so you know what is true and what is false. False prophets have duped many today. Don’t be one of them.
Blessings and stay alert!
