Who Is The I AM In This Election? The Book Of John

I AM – What does that statement say to you when you first read it? It’s a question I asked myself when I first read over it several times. Who is “I AM”? What does that mean?

I am spending some time in a life group on Monday nights. We are studying the book Freebird. The follow-up study asks you to read the seven “I AM” statements and focus on what they mean to you.

Following are the seven “I AM” statements.

Please read them to yourself several times and focus on what they mean to you.

-“I AM the bread of life; he who comes to me will never go hungry.” John 6:35

-“I AM the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

-“I AM the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture.” John 10:9

-“I AM the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” John 10:11

-“I AM the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.” John 11:25

-“I AM the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

-“I AM the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” John 15:5

The question then becomes – who is the “I AM” to you?

In case you are wondering who the I AM is – It is Jesus Christ who died on the cross for you and me. It isn’t HRC or DJT. Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

In this difficult and tumultuous time we’re living in today, Jesus Christ is who I put my hope in. He alone can save this country and this world. It isn’t the left, the right, the center, the front or the behind who can save us. There is only one!

Who are you putting your hope in today?

Seeking the I AM,

Jeanette Duby
