Righteousness Through Faith

The Righteousness of God Through Faith

From my study of the Bible this morning:

Romans 3:21-26

Righteousness Through Faith

21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[b] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.”

I grabbed paper and pen and broke down verses 21-24 as follows to understand them better. I learned a similar method in college, and it helped me understand what I was reading.

Final thoughts

Righteousness is through faith in Jesus Christ. Not by anything we have done and can do. God gave his Son as an atoning sacrifice for you and me, for all of us.

Righteousness comes to all, the Bible says. Not to a few, not to them over there, or those over here, but to all who believe. There is no difference. No matter where you live on the planet earth, the invitation is open to everyone.

We must receive the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross by faith, the atoning sacrifice for our sin. We each have sinned, and we each need to repent of our sin.

We must believe to receive the free gift of salvation.

It’s that easy. No credit cards, cash, signed contracts, or 30-year loans are needed. There’s no waiting, long lines, masks, or shots required; just your heart and mouth to confess.

Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Blessings to you and your family,

The Teaching Lady
